Where Are You

by

Afiah Yahya

As i walked up the stage
Combing the crowd for your face
Nay you are not here yet
So I wait
Till the third prize i take
Still you are absent
I hold back tears and smile like I'm fine
Deep inside still burning
While others offer
To take my picture
But where are the ones i really care about?
The ones who are suppose to swell with pride?

Not a word af congratulations
What more must I prove?
To get your undivided attention?
I wish one day you will be proud of me
Dear mom and dad.
