Always Wanting
More
by
Alice C.
Bateman

The sands of time
Are washed ashore
The waters always wanting more
One last caress
Upon the beach
The ocean's cresting waters reach
Or one more hurl
Upon the rocks
Feeling all the thrilling shocks
The waves take turns
To reach the land
They long for the caressing sand
But most find rocks
Or barren ground
Before they have to turn around
And go back to
The end of line
When it will be once more their
time
To cast themselves
Upon the shore
Always, always wanting more...
