Before We Kill Our Host

By

Alice C. Bateman

The world's so jam-packed full of death
Its hard to stand for LIFE
Hard to want peace in a world
That seems to thrive on strife

Why must we always battle?
Why must we always fight?
Why must we all refuse to see
The deep, abiding Light

Glory?
It's only gory
Chopping our young men to pieces
And sending home the bits

But as much as it may sicken
And we want to turn away
We must take up a louder voice
And we must have a say

The ones who stand for Peace on Earth
Before we kill our host
We have to change our ways before
This world becomes a ghost
