Is It Really Worth It

by

Alice C. Bateman

Dedicated to my good friend Richard

Is it really worth it
All the pain and crap we take
Is it really worth it
Is it really 'for our sake'

Does it really matter
How much work I do
Does it really matter
How much I care for you

There are some days when I just don't know
When I think I've had enough
The days when there is too much work
And everything seems tough

And then a good friend comes along
And says just the right words
That make the whole thing worth it
All the twists and turns and curves

'Cause if we didn't suffer
If everything came cheap
Then it really would mean nothing
When it comes the time to reap
