Oh To Be A Fish

by

Alice C. Bateman

Oh to be a fish

A being with no consciousness

Just floating through the universe

Without a thought or care

No teeth to brush

No floors to wash

Not even any hair

A temporary floating world

Cut off from worldly woes

No pathways in the water

To show which way he goes

Around and round in circles

Or straight from here to there

The fish thinks not about these things

He doesn't need to care
