The Moon Plays Peek-A-Boo

by

Alice C. Bateman

The Moon plays peek-a-boo

It watches me through the branches

Where the leaves are changing and falling

And the world is taking its chances

Chances that it shouldn't take

Risks that it can't win

Hosting people who forget

This Planet came from Him

This Gift from God we call the Earth

He gave from His Great Love

And we are all destroying Her

It grieves Him, up Above

We must stop hurting this, our Mother

We must stop hurting Him

We are not worthy of Their Love

What we do is a sin

We do not give our Parents

The love that is Their due

We do not seem to understand

To Them we must we must be true
