Time Stands Still

by

Amber Johnson

We look up towards the sky
And just wonder why
And wish we could die
But there seems no escaping the pain inside
We hope one day
That we will say
Will never fade
And never have us note the wrong way
and maybe one day our enemies will fade away
We run from our past
Looking for better facts
hoping one day we will be at peace at last
Life goes so fast
It destroys our minds
Bringing back the bad names
Making us remember our bad crimes
And we walk up that hill
As time stands still
