Silent Mind

by

Angel Alvarenga

Crazy, crazy little boy
Pictures flashing through his eyes
Glaring bright lights blinding him
He rocks back and forth on his heels
In love with a girl, in hate with a girl
He picks up the broken picture frame
His finger grazes the glass, staining it red
He smiles and takes a drag of heady cigarette smoke
He looks in the mirror and sees a stony handsome face
My you're pretty…his reflection nods agreeably
She doesn't get me…
They never do…
Poor, poor me
Staying away from her has never been easy
Crazy, crazy little boy
