Half Of It

by

Brent Fuller

What is chance given the probabilities
Are we prisoner in fiery midst
Between purveyors of silken goodies
And truth as promised in thin disguise

What is to be said of happy new years
When the stream didn’t volunteer
To stay where it was supposed to flow
And tyranny knew no cleft as its master

Is there anything that could stand the test
Of the accidentally invited guest
Who put to the bricks
Comes around without a nick
To forecast the next agreed time and place
Of the showing of your potpourri gift

You aren’t indeed stymied
Since never having had to answer
For dim but relieving times
Of lapse of recollection.
In reaction

Would not come with
Would not look
Act like me
So sparing me

Crimes past mar maybes
Times pass, as did mistakes made.
Surrounds talented answers is:
Will you wait and see
