Reality Check
by
Chantel Rasmussen

I look in the mirror,
but I don't see my face,
somebody else,
has taken my place,
Like in the army,
when a soldier dies,
nobody mourns,
nobody cries,
Nobody notices that,
I'm here but I'm gone,
and nobody cares,
if I'm not around too long,
This whole damn world,
is one big disgrace,
people are killing themselves,
to get away from this place,
We all want to die,
but we all want to live,
too ashamed to cry,
too greedy to give,
I think it's about time,
that we opened our minds,
to the people around us,
and the world outside.
