Miss Mary's Song - Ode to my Best Friend

by

Cinnamon Brown

We come from two different places
We sing two different songs
We share two different tastes
We walk at two separate paces
We talk two different dialects
But somehow we share the same pain
We share the same joy
We search for wholeness in the same way
Somehow we have found a common thread amongst our differences
Miss Mary you are truly my best friend
We have been through a lot of grief
Through Chris and Khalid.
Nicky and Sherrell.
Hungry days lonely days and just plain old depression
But through it all we have each other
Through the rain through the storm
That is what being friends is all about.
Miss Mary you have become more than a friend
You are truly my soul sister.
