A Baby's Dream

by

Connie Brousseau

Dedicated to PJ

A baby's dream...

For everything she ever had
The life she lost and all her past
Little toes to wiggle all night
Just for a chance to be bad

Her daddy's arms in which she was never held
Her mother's touch which she had not felt
The sweet buttercups her sister picked out
The bliss of her voice as she began to shout

All the friends she left behind
The lessons she can't keep in her mind
For all the letters of the alphabet
And the shapes of colors of sound she could have kept

For everything I have seen in my life
Only one thing can stay in my mind
All of my baby's dreams
All of her radiant beams

If I could just give her, her dreams
Her giggles and smiles and eyes that gleam
The life she lost that meant so much to me
For always I will remember her dreams

For times have come when some were lost
For the moments I sit and cry
All the nights I turn and toss
All the love for my baby I lost

So much pain I have got
So many tears which I didn't get caught
All my life I have been waiting for this
The bliss of a baby that I miss
