Tribute: My 17 year-old son, Mark.
Days pass and youth fades
though memory sees the tenderness of youth and precious milk stained smiles
Thoughts of sacrifice now barren from my mind
Only the pain of love attempting to triumph
Setbacks and more obstacles borne.
Ignorance and youth's ego considered choices nevertheless.
Unshed tears fill the well in of my soul.
Wishing to be drawn and spilt.
Yearning to cover him like the womb at conception.
My eyes reflect him whose eyes have become dull.
Pulling the image into a permanent place of feeling.
Reticent after careless words.
Just one thing resonates in my being:
I love you.
