I Believe in You

by

D. A. Williams

There are tender places

In my heart

They are just hard to find

I don't allow them to show

When I speak my mind

They always seem to come out

Whenever I least expect them

I keep them bottled up

For when they see the light

They simply face rejection

I may never know why

I came by last night

Bearing flowers and a card

What I got was a fight

I still love you heart and soul

But you never let me in

I feel I am fighting a battle

That I just can't win

I can't overcome the things I have done

But I don't want to walk away

I don't want to give up

I fight for what I believe in

That is all I do

That is why I fight so hard

I believe in you.
