Dream
Angel
by
Dave
Frazier
Tread gently through my dreams, dear love,
Dare not to awaken my slumber.
For I rest securely upon soft clouds,
Your warming embrace enwraps me.
Behind closed eyes, the darkness of night,
Upon me brings a welcoming warmth; we linger,
Amongst soft hearts and gentle caresses,
And whispers to thrill my soul.
Whispers to tease playfully at my ears,
Like a warm summer's eve breeze,
Cascading along my cheek and neck,
As an orangey sun slips out of my sight.
Behind closed eyes, sharp words cannot exist,
They dissipate as an evanescent thought,
To float away on the breath of angels,
As a misty shadow far away.
Tread gently through my dreams, dear love,
In slumber I know your love.
Suffer me not the awakening dawn,
And the reality of my empty soul.
