The Words I Need
by
Dave Frazier

Oh sweet words, why do you run from me?
To evade my embrace your only concern.
Can't you see I need your comfort?
The comfort of your sweet whispers?
The page stares blankly, begging for my pen,
Wanting and awaiting, expecting,
That I paint my picture upon it.
Its whiteness blinds my eyes from thought.
Sweet words - why do you torment;
To stay at the very edges of my thought?
I need you now, to tell my tale.
Without you, my page remains so distant.
