Denouement

by

David J. Collins

Like a disease blindness swept Babylon.
Deafness too played its part.
How can it be?
A whole Nation deceived.
Following him who leads the way to the pit.
A generation of peoples without wit.
I hear the clamor of war!
A Nation viewed as a harlot.
How fool heartily they rush to their doom.
On deaf ears falls the cry "how soon."
Thought to be quick it will last much longer.
The Nation with clout will find no way out.
Blood will run red from the many dead.
Lover of the Creator now a widow-maker.
Orphans too it will make following the snake.
Minds of the majority gripped by madness.
The mighty deluded by greed and power.
Doom awaits you killer of the prophets.
God sits in amusement at your folly.
How long? Not long.
