Eternal Love Dance

by

Dawn Draper

As you hold me,
More tight than ever,
You tell me how you feel,
I watch the words,
As they seep from your mouth,
Once sealed shut,
“I," my heart grows tense,
“missed," our past recommenced,
“you”,"my arms grow stiff,
Around your neck,
Sweet embrace,
Unbelieving your hands’ touch,
Confused by our dance,
Dizzy from this ride,
Too fast tonight,
Not fast enough,
Simple tear,
Glides down my face,
Glides to the beat,
Reaches your chest,
Fate found once,
Found once more.
