Seek Not
by
Diane Beauton

Oh dear
Alice . . .
You see so small,
The world that I designed.
What you see inside your looking glass,
Is wonderland, not mine!
Oh My darling, Dorothy . . .
Clicking at your heels.
For the world you left behind.
You traveled far away from home
In Oz, what did you find?
Oh My sweet beloved . . .
Why do you go so far?
Looking to and fro, running fast and hard.
Whatever you are seeking,
Look in your own backyard!
Oh My child, Nothing has been hidden . . .
You need not seek and find.
All that you are searching for,
You’ve already been given.
Seek not ! You need nothing more.
