Memories
by
Donna Sorensen
Sweet scents swirl and twirl inducing
memories of long ago,
providing transportation through openings of recollection
becoming my presence to the mezzanine.
From there my journey begins through filmy byways
connecting fleeting flashes of past with intertwined fragrances
and feeling of elusive recognition.
That is all there is, my momentary lapses
once again appearing for review,
reminding of then and fogging the now
bring them together in a puff of endeavor
to once more illuminate
the difference.
Now I know better,
have suspected the ruse,
for then and now are both the same cruise.
No difference in life,
it's all in my mind,
this glorious recollection
of scenic all time.
