Perhaps I Am Missing From My Land

by

Ehsan Elahi Ehsan

Perhaps I am missing from my land

The drowsy tinkling of the distant fields

And the breezy call of morning

Loaded with an incense sweet

The early shrills of the morning cock

And the beauty and elegance

Of my villages frank and simple

The rattling sounds of industrial fits

Have made our feelings mechanized

And every person, young and old

Speaks of sorrows yet untold.
