The Torments of Love

by

Ehsan Elahi Ehsan

The pangs of love are ever sweet,
The torments of love are marvelous,
Its woes are delightful, its grief's solace,
It makes us forget our anger and hate,
It does not know, the writing of fate,
Its voice is music, its silence sweet,
Its tears are the springs of heavenly water,
It glows the youth it warms the age,
From hearts it springs, to hearts it goes.
In the darkest dens of hate if flows,
It makes the barren land fertile,
And brightens on its every mile.
The sweetest moments of life are those,
When man feels transported to land,
Where the innocent hearts are craving for,
The love that is pure, the love that is winsome,
The love that joins us all with all,
Into the everlasting moments of heavenly pleasure.
