Star Gazer
by
Emily Marsham

Cold.
As the night goes on
And the wind bites
me for staring at the stars too long.
Empty.
As my heart lets go
Of the hurt
and sadness locked up inside.
Vacant.
Expression on my face
As conciousness
drifts between me and someone else.
Daggers.
As the night grows colder,
the wind sharper
and no hand comes to save me.
Elevation.
As the last breath leaves me,
the darkness closes in
And my eyes close; one last time.
Lost.
As my spirit wanders on
Searching the stars and the moon
Looking for you to take me home.
