Seeing Isn't Knowing

by

Gala Ruiz Maldonado

Hearing the words and taking them into my heart
Hiding in my room then locking the door
Grabbing a knife to slice my skin
Seeing the blood yet I'm not feeling the cut
Watching the blood gather then fall
Smearing my pain across the floor
Seeing that every stain has a dark memory
Clenching my teeth so I cannot scream
People say I don't know real pain
They don't see these scars inside and out
They think what they see is how it is
These people can't see into my heart
These people can't see the other side of me
So what else can I say other than these people are wrong
