Precious

Whether you've had a seizure
Considered taking your own life
Or had a loved one die
You realize how precious life is,
Despite these things, the world goes on as before
Life returns to normal
People stop coming
Stop asking if you're okay
Stop bringing the casseroles
They seem to stop caring,
Suddenly life becomes precious
Gratefulness applies to everything
Friends are worth more than gold
You realize that life is not just wonderful, surprising, terrible, or depressing
but simply
Precious.
