Will You Be My Godfather

by

Helen Garvey

Although I live at my mummy's house

There is another place I can be

In the palm of God's right hand

There is a special space for me

I believe I am very precious to God

He said let little children to come to me

So whenever I need and wherever I am

By my side it is Him I will see

I have seen the set of footprints

And I think that I understand

That when I am big and all grown up

My destiny is in my hand

So I have a special favour to ask

It might make you nervous and scared

But until I am big and all grown up

Will you watch out for me, just be there

I will always need your special love

Your help, support and advice

We can both be friends with God you see

I know I won't need to ask twice

So now you can watch me grow

Slowly upward day by day

I hope I bring you love and happiness

In every single way.
