The dashiki clad mortal
squats outdoors barefoot.
Arrogant like skilled water skier
riding waves in ocean.
This regal being
while staring at falling snow,
kneads Fufu with fingers
(Oblivious to jeers
from civilized friends
for shelving-acquired manner
of gormandizing
with cutlery)
This mortal
dips the Fufu in Bitterleaf soup,
and swallows a clump,
proud like a cabal
wolfing grain with chopsticks.
