Why Can't We Just Get Along

by

Jack Mann

Wars and rumours of wars
That’s what the Bible speaks plain
Why does this have to be our destiny
Do we all have to believe the same

Why can’t we just get along?

Why can’t we just have an opinion
Without all the rest getting mad
Why can’t we love one another
Do we have to make ourselves sad

Why can’t we just get along?

I guess it really starts in the family
Where we learn to fight real young
We resent our brothers and sisters
Before our life has really begun

Why can’t we just get along?

You have to love yourself first
Before you can love those that hate
Don’t put it off too long though
Tomorrow may just be too late!

Then it won’t matter if we get along...
