Searching
by
Jan Henry
I've spent the years lost and alone
Always searching for the right home
Never realizing the search would end
Where at first I once began.
The days were long, the nights longer
Seeking refuge from the cold.
Now the sun is shining brighter
The world a sparkling glimmer of gold.
So much time has long since passed.
Can this future for us last.
Will these dreams be allowed to grow
To mature and ripen til eternity flows.
My memories caress me as I dream
I feel your hands, strong and lean
The joy my body feels next to yours
Love and peacefulness silently heal.
At last I begin to feel a peace
It surrounds me with your love
The endless years will soon be gone
But our love is now finally strong.
