For You My Love

by

Jess Benoualid

I thought you loved me,
I really did.
You dropped to one knee
I guess I should have hid.

Hid from it all,
The lies you know.
I wanted to crawl
To the floor.

The tears came out,
Like waterfalls, they were.
I tried not to pout.
You had to have her.

So last night,
I watched you sleep.
I held you tight
Without a peep.

I stole that thing,
You know, with what you breathe.
I thought you were just a fling,
But tonight my knife will seethe.
