The Farmer And His Corn

by

Jo Ann Mann

There was an old farmer who had a field of corn
He planted it in rows so neat
Everyday he got up early in the morn
He would look for growth beneath his feet

The rains did not fall that year
The sun made the earth parched and dry
He would not have corn to feed his hungry steer
All the farmer could do was pray and watch the sky

The old farmer had given up all hope
Until he awoke to a field of white
Now he knew that he could cope
It was such a beautiful sight

During the hot dry days
His ears of corn began to pop
Because of the burning rays
The corn was popping and would not stop

He opened a movie house next door
Became rich showing the movie
Making buttered popcorn to sell made his profits soar
This farmer was really groovy!
