Dear Sister
by
Johanna
Albee
I know the demon that poisons your mind
the icy blackness covering memories blind.
The trusting hands, the stolen youth.
The pain, the walls that barrier the truth.
The twisted dreams invading sleep.
The Haunting voice tearing souls down deep.
The teeth gnashing anger transferred to a
lovers face.
The feeling of nothing, the heart not pounding, no life no trace.
The feeling of abnormality, incapable of
conformity.
The guilt, self-hatred, esteem non-existent.
Peace desperately desired…
the body broken
damaged
poisoned
tired.
I know your demon, it consumed me too.
Souls broken not ruined
Hearts barricaded not lifeless
Mind poisoned not lost
Confrontation will heal you.
My heart feels your soul’s tears, even through
distance and time.
For you would see its reflection when you looked inside mine.
