A Not Carried Out Talk

I wanted to describe the sunset
And the changing sky to you,
And fishermen with a fishing net.
I tried to do it – If only you knew...

I wanted to describe to you
A little ship, and shouting birds,
And the color – navy-blue –
Which covered the quiet waves.

And I wanted to hear your voice,
Your questions about the weather.
I’m sure this was a possible choice
For the best phone call ever.

But there was no talk between you and me.
The sun seemed less bright that day,
The birds became silent and less free,
The sea whispered: “someone is away”...
