I wanted to write a letter -
Several words to my distant friend.
I even found a decorative paper,
But there was no proper word to send.

I couldn't find an easy beginning,
And I couldn't find any end,
I wasn't able to write anything
To my dear distant friend.

Why can't I even begin this letter?
What happened in the meantime?
I have to put it off till later,
I decide to write it sometime...

But my thoughts still run to my friend.
They don't want to leave me alone.
I recall the nice times we have spent.
With little anxiety, I reach for the phone...
