Reopened
by
Jonathan Isenor

Old wounds
Held closed
By stitches
That often reopen
The damage
That had been done
Pours out
Like a river of pain
That will not end
Left to stitch it up again
Left to repair the damage
Left to stitch it back together
When will this end?
When will the cycle stop?
When will the stitches stay in?
When will the void that I have be filled?
When will I feel again and not pain?
Will I feel love again?
All of these questions
Because of a wound
That has been reopened.
