Here was the graveyard of trinities. One small place with so much power. Once those stones had moved. They never moved now though.
Zeus, wearing one of the later archetypes that people had adopted to identify him came upon these three plotting once more. They had unseated so many kings; worked their way with MacBeth. All those mentions of the triple goddess talked of these three: maiden, woman, hag.
He had grown tired of their duplicity and had come with a plan to stop them.
He approached them like a silver peacock in his armour, shimmering, throwing back their reflections at them, smiling his most charming smile. And while they, dazzled by his entrance, babbled at him about some inanity he cared not notice -- he reached into the head of Blodeuwedd and rewound her clock until Medusa sprang forth. With his eyes covered he was safe, but her sisters, no longer wrapped in the safety of their Gorgon forms were instantly turned to stone, and as Medusa's panicked glare fell on his shiny armour, she too fell under her own power.
Smiling, and thanking himself, for he was a God was he not? he turned and left the standing stones to their fate. Would they weather well through time? He cared not, but the world was free of a terrible influence.
