Harry,

I tried commenting on this yesterday, but the site ate my response…sigh. Oh well, I’ll give it another try.

I liked this piece the first time I read it and I till like it. It says so much for the man’s capacity for human kindness. Here were two patients in a difficult situation, helping each other out. Mr. Vincent was helping Mr. Parker by describing what Mr. Parker could not see and he benefited as well since it gave him something to do. So both men helped each other. I’m quite certain Mr. Parker will always remember the kindness of Mr. Vincent. It doesn’t matter that the view was non existent, in fact, that makes Mr. Vincent’s actions all the more kind and maybe, if Mr. Parker has the chance, he will think to ‘pass it forward’, just like in the movie.

This is, to me, typical you. Sweet and sad at the same time, it touches a chord with anyone who reads it. I really like it and I hope you do something with it.

Keep up the good work, my friend,
marlicia

Thanks for the response, Marlicia. Mr. Vincent meant something to me – he's a personification of writer, painter, musician ... you name it. He's the man who can make people see the things he wants them to see. Parker is everyman. He can appreciate the things Vincent saw, but he can't see anything himself.

Do either of you know the author of the SONG entitled "Bed By the Window"? A man named James King made it a popular recording, but the author's name is missing from the sources I have. Thank you in advance for any information you might have about those song lyrics.
