We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time.

This reminds me of The Rime Of the Ancient Mariner where he travels the journey in one frame of mind and then repeats the journey in a different frame of mind and everything is transfigured. When you lived somewhere for a long time and moved away and then you revisit it it can often seem imbued with a totally new quality -- it is somehow fresher. You walk around your familiar habitat with your head down half the time. I think I absorb a lot of the facts about where I live through a kind of osmosis rather than conscious processing.
