Your Memory

by

Kimberly Hunt

Your memory haunts me...
it encompasses me day and night.
I want to forget that we
once loved...
We loved so wholly.
Completely.
Beautifully.
That's what I once believed.
I want to forget that you
hurt me...
You lied to me.
You abused me.
You broke my heart in two.
And took the biggest half with you.
Your memory haunts me...
it occupies my every thought.
I want to get over you...
Get over the fact that
you destroyed my life.
Get over loving you...
Forget that you exist.
If it weren't for
the damn memories....
That would be easy to do.
