Paint River

by

Kimberly Osburn

A crisp, gentle breeze paints changing hues, mirrored by the stream.
Always moving as time passes by, nothing stays the same.

Sounds of dusk surround my thoughts of seasons long ago. The same trees
stand along the shore that time has left alone.

Clouds of mist deepen their beauty as darkness falls once more. Promises
of tomorrow cross the horizon in waves of pink and gold.

Gardens of color touched by the winds beyond these cliffs of change.
Forget-me-nots, iris, and carpets of green adorning nature's realm.

White birch and pines reach to the sky, swaying in the night. Dreams
from the past return on clouds of long forgotten thoughts.

Porcupine mountains and miles of blue will stay forever more. Streams of
dew caress the rocks - polished by their touch.

The north woods will patiently wait again, it is here my spirit
stays...... traveling in dreams on an eagle's wing upon a gentle breeze.
