Emptiness

by

Maria Paradiso

Emptiness is eternal

All I have surrounding me is the space of empty

And in my wretched space is the big fat zero

Of nothing!

Fill the empty with a colour

Of insignificance

The colour grey

Except the colour grey

Only exists in our imagination.

When black is mixed with a little of white

Neutral shades of night

To give the illusion of day meaning light.

Running on nothing,

Running on empty

Pass the garage and fill her up –

There’s nothing there

Except explosions of microns in the open air

As hydrogen clashes with the oxygen

Of space…

Empty running lucid race

Empty is life

Replace

Empty with

Space.
