and subtle shades of gray
Shadows and sharp contrasts
graphite words across the page
I dream in charcoal sketches
I dream in pen and ink
graffiti coded and obscured
thoughts and fantasies
The mists grow ever denser
there is no sense of time
Deep within the fogbanks
cryptic symbols of the mind
I cannot read the road signs
I fear I've lost my way
I dream in black and white,
and subtle shades of gray.
