Crimson Tears

by

Mathew Robello

The love of my life now gone scattered upon wind's breeze
like ashes of the dead given unto the seas
Hearts of pain and sorrow in a world of darkest night
shivering in the cold, lonely in the shadows filled with fright
crying heard upon deafened ears
mind of wonder with the greatest of fears
alone in a world where people judge before they even know
cold as if buried beneath a cold winter's snow
I want to sleep through the pain i want to sleep through it all
anything to get rid of this feeling, this feeling like i fall
in minds eye i see the light but i cannot reach
i cannot get past all those memories made on a sandy beach
i cannot escape the stars upon which we gazed and i cry
i cannot get past or through the memory of the look in your eyes
the look that gave me comfort through any of my sorrow
i can't get past the fact that i won't see you tomorrow
even as i write now my eyes pour red and my soul lays in fear
all alone as i cry, crying these crimson tears
