Solitude

by

Matthew Grey

together I am always alone
alone I can find some solitude
its only then I don’t feel alone
it might just be my attitude

alone is when I feel more alive
no one but me to feel the world
is this for what in my life I strive
am I just disillusioned to the world

around others I turn more inside
I think more of how they perceive
what do they see on my outside
what do they have for me to receive

In my solitude I can be free
I can find things in me I never knew
In my solitude I am free to be me
no fear of being judged by you

the illusion is, alone I feel freedom
around others I turn more inside
alone I am the ruler of my kingdom
with others there is so much to hide
