Locked and Chained

by

Melissa DeMedio

A spinning world of emotion,
Lie beneath us all,
You try to hide,
Keep it locked and chained.

Fearful places,
They want to come out and play,
But you try to hide,
Keep the fear locked and chained.

Happy faces,
They gleam like light,
You don't want to hide,
Or keep them locked and chained.

Worry it shines on faces,
You try to forget it,
Perhaps even hide,
You just want it locked and chained inside.

Love smiles on faces,
Like a blossoming flower,
You don't want to hide,
Or to keep it locked and chained inside.

A spinning world of emotion,
This is an encounter we all can tell,
You can't hide,
Or keep it locked and chained inside.
