Tear Stains

By

Nicole Starleigh Yeager

Tear stains on my face
I feel so empty inside
Two different points of view
I, shot down like Bonnie and Clyde

And now it is all over
But I can not take all the blame
Over time, yes, I have changed
And then this ending came

I admit I have done wrong
Though I saw it not 'til now
But it takes two to tango
And we got lost somehow

Tear stains on my pillow
As I lie awake at night
I'd ask for your forgiveness
But it's not worth the fight
