Southern Desire
by
Roxanne Mimms

Floating across
cyberspace
Come
emotions so real
Can
they be true
These
things I feel?
I
married, so’s she – almost
Both
wonderful men
But
part of me lives
Just
to see her again
Compassionate
and sweet
Gorgeous,
sexy, engaged dammit
So
very, very far away
She
in that country, me? Not in it
My
southern Belle
Beautiful,
inside and out
Not
able to touch her
It
makes me want to shout
Though
we’ve not been face to face
We
know each other through and through
Maybe
someday, my love, together at last
You’ll
touch me and I’ll touch you
We’ll
be in heaven
Me,
and my southern desire
