It may be
temporary, who knows? But
Who or what stole Canada's Golden Disk?
Replacing it with a bloodshot eye,
Boldly, brazenly, as if without risk..
It is in all probability temporary but
Who or what turned off Canada's lights,
And scattered confettied ash over cities,
Turning God's gift of days into nights.
Long term, one could call this temporary,
But who or what destroyed Canada's Wild,
Magnificent to view and the wild life too.
This 'whoever' or 'whatever' will be reviled
Maybe temporarily, for it will happen again,
And, each time, scarring Canada's heart.
But to all Canadians, some, I feel I know well,
You will rise from the events and make a fresh
start.
I view Canada on my mind screen, from afar,
I perceive a unique, distant loving relationship, a
lifeline.
Poetic licence maybe but Britains and Canadians
have
Tea and maple syrup with the ability to smile and
recline.
