Blindness

by

Rusty Broadspear

I understand
But cannot see,
From noise and worry
I always flee.
Visions unfolding
Mind beholding,
This back-breaking burden
Is crushing me.
Darkness surrounds
Enclosing sounds
And time goes by
In leaps and bounds.
Colours contracting,
My mind's acting
And visions are dancing around.
Then...... in the distance
I hear a bird......
How hard it is to picture a sound.
