Captured
Memories
by
Rusty
Broadspear

When I kissed him it was so sad,
The gulf of years was unbearable,
The cloak of heartache
Heavy and unwearable.
He showed no tears, only love
As my lips became my own
And my spirit took refuge
In a faraway arctic zone.
Alone, desolate, I could only stare
At the photo and pray
He was reunited with his sweetheart
Forever and a day.
She looks on from another frame.
Bravehearts from the last World War
Together on celluloid
She accepts a kiss, for before
The time they were taken away,
For the love and honesty we shared.
Love travels a long, long way
We cared so much, now I'm scared.
